Evie Digital Pty Ltd ("we," "our," or "us") operates the Masterful mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our App.

Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

1.1 Information You Provide to Us

Profile Information

  • Name and display name

  • Personal meditation intentions and goals

  • Meditation preferences and settings

  • User-generated session content and creations

Account Information

  • We use Firebase Authentication for anonymous authentication

  • You may optionally link your account to email or other authentication providers in future updates

1.2 Information Automatically Collected

Health and Biometric Data (with your explicit permission)

  • Heart rate and heart rate variability (HRV)

  • Respiratory rate

  • Blood oxygen saturation (SpO2)

  • Active calories burned during meditation sessions

  • Workout session data (start time, duration, end time)

  • Posture and stillness metrics (when camera-based tracking is enabled)

This health data is collected through Apple HealthKit and is used exclusively to:

  • Provide real-time biometric feedback during meditation sessions

  • Enable adaptive AI meditation guidance based on your physiological state

  • Display meditation statistics and progress tracking

  • Improve the personalization of your meditation experience

Device and Usage Information

  • Device type and model (iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch)

  • Operating system version (iOS/watchOS)

  • App version and build number

  • Session start/end times and durations

  • Features used within the App

  • Music and audio preferences

  • Crash logs and error reports

Camera Data (with your explicit permission)

  • Visual frames for posture detection and stillness analysis

  • Camera data is processed locally on your device in real-time

  • No camera images or video are stored or transmitted to our servers

1.3 Apple Music Integration

When you use Apple Music features within the App:

  • We access your Apple Music subscription status

  • We retrieve available music tracks for meditation backgrounds

  • We do not collect or store your broader Apple Music listening history

  • Music playback data remains between you and Apple

We use the collected information for the following purposes:

To Provide and Maintain the App

  • Deliver personalized meditation experiences

  • Enable real-time biometric-adaptive meditation guidance

  • Synchronize meditation data across your iPhone and Apple Watch

  • Generate personalized meditation scripts based on your profile and statistics

To Improve the App

  • Analyze usage patterns to enhance features and user experience

  • Debug technical issues and crashes

  • Develop new meditation features and content

  • Optimize AI guidance algorithms

To Personalize Your Experience

  • Tailor meditation recommendations based on your preferences

  • Provide personalized statistics and progress tracking

  • Generate custom meditation scripts using your name, intentions, and goals

  • Track and celebrate meditation streaks and achievements

To Communicate with You

  • Send important updates about the App

  • Respond to your support requests

  • Notify you about new features or content (with your permission)

3. Data Storage and Security

3.1 Local Storage

The following data is stored locally on your device:

  • User profile and preferences (UserDefaults)

  • Session history metadata

  • Cached audio files

  • Meditation statistics

  • Music preferences

3.2 Cloud Storage

The following data may be stored in Firebase Cloud Services:

  • Anonymous user authentication tokens

  • User profile data (name, intentions, goals)

  • Personalized meditation session metadata

  • User-created meditation content

  • Generated audio files (stored in Firebase Storage)

  • Session preferences and settings

3.3 HealthKit Data

  • Health and biometric data is managed by Apple HealthKit

  • We read this data only with your explicit permission

  • We write workout session data back to HealthKit for your records

  • We do not store HealthKit data on our servers

  • HealthKit data remains under your control and can be revoked at any time in iOS Settings

3.4 Security Measures

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information:

  • End-to-end encryption for data transmission

  • Firebase Authentication for secure user sessions

  • Local device encryption via iOS/watchOS security features

  • Regular security audits and updates

  • Secure cloud storage with access controls

However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

4. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties.

We may share your information only in the following circumstances:

Service Providers

  • Firebase (Google): Cloud infrastructure, authentication, and database services

  • ElevenLabs: Real-time conversational AI voice processing

  • Apple: HealthKit data management, Apple Music integration, in-app purchases

These service providers are contractually obligated to protect your data and use it only for the services they provide to us.

Legal Requirements

  • If required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request

  • To protect the rights, property, or safety of Evie Digital Pty Ltd, our users, or the public

  • To enforce our Terms of Use or investigate potential violations

Business Transfers

  • If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred. We will provide notice before your information is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

5. Your Rights and Choices

5.1 Access and Control

You have the right to:

  • Access your personal information stored in the App

  • Update or correct your profile information

  • Delete your account and associated data

  • Export your meditation session history

  • Revoke HealthKit permissions at any time via iOS Settings

5.2 Health Data Permissions

You can manage HealthKit permissions by:

  1. Opening iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Health

  2. Selecting "Meditator"

  3. Adjusting read/write permissions for each health category

Revoking HealthKit permissions will limit biometric tracking features but will not delete your existing HealthKit workout records.

5.3 Camera Permissions

You can manage camera permissions by:

  1. Opening iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Camera

  2. Toggling "Meditator" on or off

Camera access is only used for local posture detection and is never stored or transmitted.

5.4 Data Deletion

To delete your account and all associated data:

  1. Open the App

  2. Navigate to Profile > Settings

  3. Select "Delete Account"

Upon deletion, we will:

  • Remove your profile information from Firebase

  • Delete all personalized meditation content

  • Remove cached audio files from our servers

  • Anonymize or delete analytics data

Note: HealthKit workout data remains in your Health app and is not deleted automatically. You can manually delete this data in the Health app.

6. Children's Privacy

The App is not intended for users under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will delete it immediately. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.

7. International Data Transfers

Your information may be transferred to and maintained on servers located outside of your state, province, country, or other governmental jurisdiction where data protection laws may differ.

If you are located outside Australia and choose to provide information to us, please note that we transfer the data, including personal information, to Australia and process it there.

By using the App, you consent to this transfer and processing.

8. Third-Party Services

The App integrates with the following third-party services, each governed by their own privacy policies:

Firebase (Google Cloud Platform)

ElevenLabs

Apple Services (HealthKit, MusicKit, StoreKit)

LiveKit (used by ElevenLabs)

We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third-party services. We encourage you to review their privacy policies.

9. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as necessary to provide the App's services and fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.

User Account Data: Retained until you delete your account
Session History: Stored indefinitely unless you delete your account
Personalized Audio: Retained for 30 days per session (5 versions maximum)
Analytics Data: Aggregated and anonymized data may be retained indefinitely
Crash Logs: Retained for up to 90 days

10. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA):

  • Right to Know: Request disclosure of personal information collected

  • Right to Delete: Request deletion of your personal information

  • Right to Opt-Out: Opt-out of the sale of personal information (Note: We do not sell personal information)

  • Right to Non-Discrimination: Exercise your privacy rights without discriminatory treatment
